My story, purpose and why style feels different here

Hi, I’m Chantal. For as long as I can remember, ever since my nan - a dressmaker - sat me at her Singer machine and taught me to sew, I have had an absolute love of fashion, patterns, sewing, upcycling, and all things fabric! Even back in the ’70s and ’80s, I can remember upcycling pieces as a kid, long before it became a trend.

Now, some 40+ years later, in my midlife, midsize era, and in a world of fast fashion and polyester overload, I appreciate the skills and values I was taught more than ever - and the importance of quality fabrics and thoughtful design.

Perhaps you also value these qualities in your style, and you’re here because, like me, you find it hard to source clothing that is made from sustainable, breathable natural fabrics, fits well, is size-inclusive, and reasonably priced.

For me, these values and skills have been invested into a long-term passion project — a part-time side hustle selling preloved, sewn, and newly sourced clothing online and at occasional weekend markets over the years, while also working in other industries. In 2025, I stepped out and rented a small space in the CBD to allow my customers to collect pieces & have alterations done.

Here, you will find preloved and new pieces carefully selected for longevity, versatility, comfort, and affordability. You can choose to shop online or visit my quiet ground-level studio at 2 Durham Street East, tucked just off Queen Street in the Premier Building. We’re on the ground floor, just to the right of the lift. It’s a calm, welcoming space to browse without pressure or overwhelm.
